Synopsis
Unbeknownst to Sam and Dean, Rowena is back. She protected herself with a resurrection spell that allowed her to survive Lucifer 'killing' her. - Sláinte is a Gaelic word that translates to "health", it is commonly used in Irish and Scottish drinking toasts.

- Fifth base is butt stuff.

- Sam is referencing 7.08 Season Seven, Time for a Wedding!, where he briefly became married to Becky Rosen after being given a love potion by her.

- Sam is referencing 10.07 Girls, Girls, Girls, where Rowena caused a waiter's head to boil from the inside after placing a spell on him.
Rowena uses the same paralyzing spell, invoked by saying "Manete" which is Latin for "remain", on Sam and Dean that she has previously used on Castiel, Crowley, and Lucifer.
After breaking the binding spell on herself that was limiting her powers, Rowena's eyes glow purple. This had previously also been seen with Tasha Banes and her son Max. Many fans reported that Rowena's eye's appeared blue on their broadcast of the episode. Head of Supernatural VFX Mark Meloche confirm that the effect had been created to be purple.
