|Synopsis= This week's episode started with a flashback from 17 years ago. Emily was showing Walker how to drive stick on her 67'Red Mustang Convertible(yes, thats right, another classic car) Walker was having issues with the clutch and he was feeling defeated. Emily places a Bobble Head of a Texas Ranger baseball player figure on the dash and explains that everything takes time and that the bobble head is always smiling and has no judgement. Emily has the utmost confidence in Walker that he will he able to do this and has him drive to the Side Step(which is the name of the local bar) Walker takes deep breath, Emily gives him instructions and they take off. Walker is proud of himself.

Fast forward 17 years(Present day 2021)

Walker and Micki in Micki's new truck. Walker is impressed and asks if all the security features have been set up. Micki expressed that she has been too busy to do that. This is Micki's first stakeout as a Texas Ranger. Walker wants to take this time to bond and learn about his partner. Micki is focused on getting intel on Torreto(who is an arms dealer selling guns) Walker wants to talk about her middle name, favorite teams or favorite movies and believes that Torreto isn't making a deal in a strip club. Walker tries to guess Mick's middle name and she is not impressed. Micki then turns the tables and asks about Stella. Walker explains that things are good right now and he wants to stay that way. Micki shares a story about how she and friend of hers(Garrison) had some real crazy times and expresses that the easy route is not always the way to go. In the strip club, we are introduced to Hoyt(Rawlins) who is covered with glitter, and is shirtless, wearing a cowboy hat. He makes his way to Torreto. He warns her that there are two "white hats" in the parking lot. It is suggested that they both leave through the back. Back at Micki's truck, Micki is making fun of how Walker rambles and his chuckles. They leave the truck as they do not see Torreto leave the strip club. They go inside and question one of the exotic dancers who expresses that no one is left. Walker and Micki run outside and see two people(Torreto and Hoyt)- which at this time they do not know who the mystery man is steal Micki's new truck and the bobble head that Walker placed on the dashboard.

Stella and August are walking to school. August is making Stella smile with describing his fellow classmates in an Attenborough accent. Stella runs into her two friends and they talk about the upcoming Bonfire. Stella is hesitant to go as she has a court date looming from her arrest. Her friend expresses that since her father is a ranger, he can get her out of it. Stella says that things are "cool" right now with her dad and she doesn't want to do anything to jeopardize that. August runs into Ruby who asks him if he planning to come to Bonfire. August becomes very shy and says that he doesn't plan on it. August finds out that Ruby is going and changes his mind quickly. At the Family Ranch, Bonham and Abeline are preparing for a guest for dinner. Bonham is wanting to hide all the expensive items from Hoyt(who Bonham does not like). Abeline asks Bonham to "give him a chance". He then proceeds to hide his two bottle of bourbon so the temptation of stealing it is taken away. Back at the Texas Ranger's office, Captain James is briefing on the case and the events of what occurred the night before. Micki is apprehensive as she and Walker lost the suspects and her truck. Walker reminds Micki that he and Captain have her back and that it will all be okay. Captain James then reviews the camera footage and Walker is in disbelief as he recognizes the getaway driver as his friend, Hoyt Rawlins. Micki then admits that Torreto and getaway driver stole her truck. Everyone is room chuckles and Captain James asks that they find her truck, Torreto, and the "naked cowboy."(referring to Hoyt).

Walker pulls into Family ranch, for dinner. He is then tackled to the ground and thrown into truck but someone. This someone then is playing hide and seek with Walker. Walker then tussles with this someone and throws him to the ground. This mystery person is his childhood friend, Hoyt. Walker shows his frustration and throws out accusations that Hoyt is involved. Hoyt is being a smart ass about it and doesn't know what he is speaking about. Abeline then comes running outside and gives Hoyt a bug hug and greeting. Hoyt refers to Abeline as "Abby Bear". At the dinner table, everyone is enjoying the Wagyu steaks that Hoyt "bought". Hoyt is asked to say grace. Liam asks why he is in town. Hoyt explains he wants to spend time with his old friend. Walker and Liam have some fun with Hoyt naming off different prisons that Hoyt has been to. Hoyt then turns to Stella and calls her an "outlaw". Bonham is upset with this comment and excuses himself from the table and goes to the bunkhouse. Hoyt also tells Stella and August that it was Emily(their mother) that started the annual bonfire. During this, Micki is tracking her truck. The roadside assistance person reminds Micki to set up all of her security features to better assist her. Micki knows this and hangs up. She calls Walker(leaving a message) that she is looking for her truck and that it close by to the family farm. Hoyt and Liam at the dinner table are giving Stella opposite advice on how to deal with the judge. Walker then reiterates what Micki had previously said in regards to "no one benefits from easy route." Abeline then stops the conversation and presents a plate of peppers and askes who will be the first participate in the "Muy Caliente Contest". Everyone points to Hoyt.

Micki finds her truck in the driveway of the Family Ranch and observes through the window that Hoyt is with Walker and his family. Bonham then pulls out gun, thinking it is an intruder.. Micki introduces herself as a Texas Ranger. Bonham introduces himself as Walker's father. Micki questions why Hoyt is inside and Bonhman explains that him and Walker are old friends. At bunkhouse, Bonham and Micki bond. He continues to explain the history of Hoyt and give some advise that she should knock some sense into Walker about being blinded about Hoyt. Back at the house, Hoyt is leaving for the evening and Walker comes up with the idea that he will call out of work and play "hookie". Hoyt is happy with this and asks that they go to see Geri at the "Side Step". Walker ends the conversation with reminding Hoyt that if he is involved in the case that he will need to do his job and take him down. Hoyt chuckles and expresses only if he can catch him.

The next day, Hoyt brings Walker to a storage facility in the middle of nowhere. Hoyts opens up the locker, and in it is Emily's 67 Mustang. Walker is shocked that he still has it. We find out that Hoyt won the car during a poker game that he and Walker had years ago. Hoyt wants Walker to "win" it back. As Walker in touching it, a flashback scene pops up. This flashback is a conversation that Walker and Emily are having. They are broke and its poker night and they have nothing to anti up. Emily suggests the car and Walker immediately says "no". Walker explains that he has fallen in love with it and has named "her", Stella as this was the first name that popped into his head. Walker explains that they do not need money and Emily expressed that they may not, but "our family might". Walker is stunned and bel happy that Emily pregnant. Walker then starts spit balling what he needs to do and what they need. Emily reminds him to keep eye on Hoyt during the game. End of flashback.

Micki is in Captain James's office. Micki has an issue with how Walker in handling Hoyt. Micki and James are piecing case together. James reminds Micki to just keep an eye out. Phone rings, its Walker saying that he will not be in work today as he is gathering intel on Hoyt. At Side Step(bar), Hoyt and Walker walk in. Hoyt greets Geri, who is not pleased to see him. Hoyt wants her to make an honest man out of him and has one knee down(proposing). The look that Geri has tells the story of how there are some feelings still between her and Hoyt. Geri looks with disbelief and tells him to get up and that he doesnt have a ring. Hoyt then takes out a plastic tie that shaped as ring. Walker then proceeds to start dealing cards. Geri sets four glasses on bar and they all proceed to take a shot "for Emily". They are drinking and playing poker, pile of money in the middle. Micki walks in to bar and both Walker and Hoyt are both surprised. Micki expresses that she is checking on her partner and seeing if he is working or not. Walker reminds her that he is always at work. Micki and Geri meet for the first time. Micki and Hoyt exchange words, Hoyt offers a drink to Micki and she accepts. At this point, Micki then arrests Hoyt for "bribing law enforcement". Walker is stunned but not surprised. Micki reminds Walker that their is a line and it shouldn't be crossed. Geri shakes her head and tells Walker that things have not changed.

Micki explains at police station(in a protecting manner) that Hoyt is playing Walker. Walker is defensive. Micki explains that his a conflict of interest in this case. Micki questions Hoyt about where is the possible location out of 8 that the arms deal is going down. Hoyt points to location and gives snarly remark about how Micki is the right partner for Cordi. At the Bonfire, Stella and August are having their own fun, drinking. Stella tells her friends that her mother started the Bonfire tradition and her friends could not careless. August is drunk, Stella is surprised. August then starts to breakdown dance. August has some moves. At the location that Hoyt pointed out, Walker and Micki are about to make entrance to the building and feels that something is not right. They enter the building and it is empty. The only thing their is the 67 Mustang with a note attached to it. Micki picks the note up and reads it out loud. It is from Hoyt saying that he still loves them but that they all knew it was going to end this way. He is giving back the car as it always has been Emily's. Walker then realizes that he knows where Torreto and Hoyt is. At Bonfire, August wants to impress Ruby and it about to take do a fire walk. Stella jumps in and expresses that he shouldn't that that. August is drunk and asks Stella if she is wanting to drive away their father. Stella is not pleased that he said this her and tells him to not say that. Stella then calls Walker, wanting him to pick up as they need a ride home. Walker does not pick up. Stella then calls Liam. Liam and Bret have different cake samples for their wedding. Liam picks up phone. Stella explains that they are at the bonfire and August is drunk and throwing up. Liam explains that they will be there is 20 minutes. Bret explains to Liam that he shouldn't drop everything for Stella. Liam interrupts Bret and says that August is drunk. Bret then changes his attitude and says he does not want to miss this.

Back at the location that Hoyt and Torreto are, guns are being packed up and put into delivery trucks that have been stolen. Hoyt is ready for a fight but first makes a call to Abeline. Hoyt calls her "Abby Bear" and an emotional conversation ensues. Hoyt explains that he will be out of town for a while and apologizes for being a disappointment. Abeline explains that being that Hoyt saved her boy, she will never forget that and she will always be in his corner and hopes that he will find his way back one day. August is being loaded into Liam's car. Stella asks Liam if he will be at court in the morning. Liam explains that he will not be there. August starts eating the cake samples and puts on radio. The four of them start jamming to the music being played. All of them are smiling. At the facility, the rangers come storming in. Guns start firing. Hoyt is waiting for his opportunity to flee. He sees' Micki's truck again and piles in. He starts driving when all of a sudden Micki presses the kill switch on her phone. The truck stops. Hoyt is not pleased. Hoyt is put under arrest and says "Score one for Team Sassy Boots.". Walker then asks Micki about her friend Garrison ended up. She explains that he never made it and that no one ever gave him the "tough love" he needed. Micki proceeds to say that tough love is the right thing to do sometimes. Walker realizes this and agrees.

The next day, Stella is ready for court. She is dressed in a Fleetwood Mac Shirt(which I love) and is ready. Walker walks in and he is wearing plain clothes. Stella askes why he is not in uniform. Walker explains that he is going with her to court as her "father" and not a "ranger". Walker then get August up, who is still reeling from a hangover from the night before. Abeline is in the kitchen getting a backpack ready. She is still planning on going on a Mushroom hunt(the hunt that Hoyt set up that he was planning on going with her). Bonham asks if she wants company and apologizes about Hoyt. Abeline expresses that she wants to be alone. Bonhman expresses that he misses her and Abeline says that she knows this. At the bar, Micki walks in(with her hair down) and throws down a $20 bill and the plastic ring. Micki apologizes for Hoyt and tell her that he wanted Geri to have the ring and that she was only doing her job. Geri asks Micki if she wants a shot. Micki and Geri share in taking a shot and then Geri proceeds to tell Micki that it will cost her that she is only doing her job. They both smile.

At the courthouse, Walker is visibly angry. Stella apologizes for her actions. Walker explains that what's done is done that Stella will need to pay back the fine. Stella's punishment is 100 hours of community service, suspended license and fine. They all get into car. Halfway down the road, Walker pulls over and asks everyone to get out. Walker tells Stella to get into driver's seat and August will be running behind to sweat the alcohol out. Stella gets into driver's seat. Walker places the Bobble Head on the dash. Walker proceeds to explain step by step on how to release the clutch and put it in gear. Stella gets it on first try. Walker refers the car to "her" and Stella asks what is the name he had given it. The last scene is a closeup of Walker both thinking and smiling riding shotgun.
