History
Rowena McLeod is an extremely powerful natural-born witch, originally from Scotland in the 17th century (or possibly earlier). Before Rowena became a witch she was a peasant and the daughter of a tanner in Canisbay, who had an affair with a man above her social class. Once her son Fergus was born in 1661, the man abandoned the two and went back to his rich wife and her grand house. Her son Fergus Roderick MacLeod, would go on to become known as the demon Crowley.

1.12 The Tears of a Clown
Rowena approaches Ada Monroe and offers her assistance for the right price. Ada leads Rowena to the Men of Letters Clubhouse where she retrieves a grimoire that Rowena claimed that the Men of Letters had stolen from her, in exchange for giving Ada magic powerful enough to kill the Akrida Queen that Rowena had promised. However, Rowena reveals that she had lied about the book belonging to her, having only used it as a pretext to get into the clubhouse. Rowena reveals that she is actually after the demon that Ada had trapped in a plant. After examining the plant, she tells Ada that she can feel the evil radiating from it. Rowena admits that the reason she wants the demon is because he has information about her son. Rowena taunts Ada that she doesn't have the power to stop the Akrida or Rowena herself from taking what she wants and just leaving, causing Ada to angrily and instinctively magically bind Rowena's feet in vines, much to Ada's shock. Stating that she hates being wrong, Rowena blasts Ada out of the room, knocking her unconscious.
When Ada awakens hours later, Rowena greets her and offers Ada a cup of tea to help restore Ada's strength, after all of the magic that Ada had expended. Ada politely declines and Rowena explains that this had never been just about the demon, as much as Rowena will enjoy torturing him. Rowena was also testing Ada to see if she's powerful enough to join Rowena's coven, a test that Ada passed. Rowena tells Ada that Akrida are so powerful that, even with the right magic, stopping their invasion may be impossible and it's coming soon. Rowena doesn't know any exact details, just that the Queen needs help from an alignment of five planets. When Ada demands the magic that Rowena had promised her, Rowena summons a crystal and reveals that there's just one more ingredient: a piece of Ada's own soul. Ada takes the crystal and Rowena tells her to look her up if she survives this as Ada is more powerful than she knows and Rowena has so much to teach her. Walking away, Rowena vanishes into thin air.
Trivia
- This version of Rowena appears to be unbound by the restrictions of the Grand Coven unlike the Rowena of Supernatural. For example, Rowena's magic has a purple color to it that's only ever seen when her magic is completely unbound. Also, she scouts Ada for her coven and wants to teach Ada while the Supernatural Rowena was forbidden from having either a coven or students.
