11.16 Safe House

Shortly after they move into their new home, Naoki is scraping old wallpaper off the living room wall as she talks to her wife—who is in London—on a bluetooth earpiece. Naoki complains about the house being more of a fixer-upper than she'd expected. Her wife calms her down and tells her to take it one room at a time. Naoki agrees and they exchange love-yous before hanging up. Naoki goes back to scraping the wallpaper off the wall, unknowingly scraping some paint off a sigil which had been underneath the wallpaper. Suddenly, there's a scream from upstairs, and Naoki rushes to her daughter's bedroom. Her daughter, Kat, tells her there's something bad in the house, that'd she'd heard footsteps, and complains about her room being cold. Naoki tells her that the furnace will be fixed the next day and asks if Kat needs anything. Kat tells her that she's thirsty, and Naoki goes to get her a glass of water. Whilst Naoki is downstairs, Kat screams again.

After finding her daughter unconscious, Naoki takes her to St. Eligius hospital where she lies in a coma for days afterwards. Naoki is approached by two FBI agents—Sam and Dean—and asks why they're interested in her case since even "the internet" doesn't believe her. She admits not hearing the footsteps her daughter spoke of, but she did notice the room was unusually cold and that the lights had went out. Dean asks if they can go and investigate her house, and she agrees, telling them there's a hide-a-key under a painted rock by the front door. When the agents leave, Naoki returns to her daughter's bedside, covering her exposed ankle—which has a hand-shaped mark on it—with a blanket.

When Naoki returns to the house that night to get some items for Kat, the lights suddenly go out, and she hears loud footsteps just before she falls to the floor and is dragged away, just like her daughter was. She is taken to the hospital where she, too, falls into a coma, vitals falling rapidly.

After Sam defeats the soul eater that had been attacking people in the house, Dean sees the projection of Naoki and Kat's souls as he's inside the soul eater's nest. They tell him that the rest of the souls the soul eater had taken were leaving the house.

Later, in the hospital, Naoki awakens and is reunited with her wife and Kat—who had also woken up from her coma. On the phone to Sam, Naoki expresses confusion at what happened, but thanks Sam and Dean for saving them. She also adds that she and her wife have decided to sell the house and move.
