History

Malachi was an angel, who was referred to as a "street thug" and "anarchist." When the angels fell, Malachi began to amass a following equal to that of Bartholomew.

9.09 Holy Terror

Malachi had planned to meet in a top level summit with Bartholomew to discuss joining forces to take back Heaven from Metatron. However, Bartholomew does not attend, preferring to send a lieutenant of his due to his current responsibilities and general dislike of Malachi, whom he refers to as a "street thug." Angered by this slight, Malachi and his people proceed to kill Bartholomew's delegates.

Malachi had been tracking the angel Muriel, who had inadvertently led one of his soldiers, Theo, to Castiel. Malachi goes about torturing Castiel for information about Metatron, and any weaknesses he might know of. As punishment for not answering his questions, he orders Theo to kill Muriel, and torture Castiel while he steps out. When Malachi returns, he is shocked to find all his soldiers lying dead on the floor and Castiel missing.

Malachi is mentioned by Bartholomew, who tells Castiel that he will "outrace Malachi in the hunt for Metatron."

9.21 King of the Damned

When Castiel tells Sam and Dean about his reasons for leading the angels, he mentions that Gadreel had killed Malachi.
