History
The Il Soarta are a vampire clan that worshipped the Ursitoare, the Romanian equivalent of the three Fates of Greek mythology. The Il Soarta believed that if they sacrificed enough blood to the Ursitoare, they would be rewarded with a stone carved from their ribs. This stone was known as the Gem of Ursitoare, with the stone, the vampires could know the fates of the living -- what humans to turn, who to kill, and who should be replaced amongst the clan to ensure their success and longevity.
The use of the Gem of Ursitoare became a sacred practice among the Il Soarta, but when their leader saw he was fated to die, he chose to attempt to save himself over the clan. In doing so, he died as was fated and the Gem of Ursitoare was lost to the Il Soarta.
