Gertie meets Sam and Dean Winchester when Garth calls the Winchesters over to deal with what happened with Bess' cousin Brad. She sits with Sam when Bess gives him her father's cold remedy, and when Sam starts to react to the mostly cayenne pepper drink, Gertie remarks to her mother that "the giant is crying", and laughs as Sam falls to the floor from the heat of the drink.
