Sometime in the 1980s, John Winchester was hunting a shtriga, in Fort Douglas. While he was out, Dean left Sam alone briefly and the shtriga attacked Sam, though, it was not successful as John returned and managed to scare it away from Sam. John then took the boys to stay with Pastor Jim, but when he returned the shtriga was gone. More deaths occured.
