Fire Country
At Steel City Con in Pittsburgh on 9 August, Jared said he may have a guest role of Fire Country. The show stars Max Thieriot as an incacerated man who is part of the prison's volunteer firfighter program. This was officially announced on 12 August.
Jared will appear in a three episode arc in the third season of the CBS drama in a part written specifically for him. E.P. Tia Napolitano said "The part was written for Jared, very specifically. Jared and Max are buddies, so that helped.” His character, a firefighter called Camden, is described as a "maverick with a surfer swagger who is a force to be reckoned with and immediately recognizes Bode’s raw talent."
Napolitano said of the two characters "I think they're twin flames and similar, and Camden's able to encourage, draw out maybe the dangerous side of Bode, but he sees the talent and leans into it. He doesn't try to put lightning back into the bottle."
Morena Baccarin appeared in a back-door pilot episode in Season 2 for Fire Country for a spin-off series called Sheriff Country. There is speculation that Jared's role is also a set-up for his own series, colloquially referred to as Fire Country: Surfside.

What's Fire Country about?
Fire Country follows Bode Leone (also known as Bode Donovan) and his family and friends as they fight fires. Just imagine the Winchester family if they were all firefighters instead of hunters: they will unhesitatingly risk their lives to save anyone that needs help.
Bode's life went off the rails after his sister died in a car accident he holds himself responsible for. After changing his name and leaving town, he ended up doing crimes and ends up in prison for armed robbery. There he ends up joining a prgram run by Cal Fire, where incarcerated people are offered the chance of early release in exchange for fighting fires. This takes him back to his home town.
Who does Jared play?
Jared will play a firefighter called Camden who is described by EP Tia Napolitano as a "maverick with a surfer swagger".
- He’s an envelope pusher, and he and Bode are both going to be the first one to jump into a fire when they shouldn’t. And it’s almost a race of which one of them is more heroic and willing to go rogue and willing to do anything to get the save.
In Real Life
Incacerated people in the Conservation Fire Camp assist government agencies respond to emergencies such as fires and floods and assist with park maintenance and reforestation. In California there are 35 minimum security facilities commonly known as fire camps, located across California.
Incacerated people in the program earn between $5.80 and $10.24 per day. During an active emergency, incarcerated fire crew members earn an additional $1 per hour. They also earn time off their sentence.

Who else is fighting fires?
- Jake Crawford. (Jordan Calloway) Jake and Bode are close friends, frequent romantic rivals, and now are even rivals for a kid (more on that later). Jake was in a relationship with Riley, and later Graciela and then Cara before her death.
- Sharon (Diane Farr) and Vince Leon (Billy Burke) are Bode's parents. Each of the two seasons gave them a serious health issue.
- Riley Leon (Jade Pettyjohn) Riley's dead sister. She was in a relationship with Jake, and best friends with Eve before her death.
- Gabriela Perez (Stephanie Arcila) Former Olympic diver and new firefighter, aside from she has been in relationships with Jake, Bode and is currently with Diego.
- Eve Edwards (Jules Latimer) Best friends with Graciela before her death, and close friends with Bode. Eve is our only queer character, but season 2 sort of forgot that fact and focused more on her career.
Seasons 1 and 2
Season 1 finds Bode re-connecting with his friends and family and his own heroic nature. At the end of the first season, he takes the blame for some planted drugs to save his friend, Freddy, from going back to prison. While in prison, Bode again cuts off all contact from his family, including his new girlfriend, former Olympic diver and new firefighter, Gabriela.
Bode's mother Sharon develops a kidney kidney disease in the first season, and gets a transplant from her brother Luke. In Season 2, Luke becomes the Interim Division Chief of Division 1501. Sharon and Vince's relationship is rocked because of Sharon's friendship with another firefighter, Liam.
Manny Perez, Gabriela's father, was the captain of the Three Rock conservation camp, which is the base for the program Bode is part of the Cal Fire program. Unfortunately, Bode's arrrest leads to him losing the position, which Eve take over.
After Bode's return to prison, again, Gabriela is heartbroken, but she moves on to paramedic Diego and they become engaged at the beginning of season 2. Bode’s descent into prison bad boy is only stopped when best friend Jake lets him know that Bode may be a Dad. Bode’s high school girlfriend, Cara, has finally admitted that her ‘younger sister’ Genevieve is actually her daughter and Bode may be the Dad. Bode is transformed and after saving the inmate who framed him, Bode secures his transfer back to Cal Fire. Jake is now dating Cara, and bonds with her daughter, so the two best friends are now rivals for the affections of Genevieve. When Cara passes away after a tragic accident, Genevieve, who has not spent much time with Bode, prefers Jake. By the end of the season DNA proves Bode is not the father, and she is placed in care with Bode’s parents.
Bode and Gabriela still flirt and share heated glances and then she ends up kissing him. Despite her feelings for Bode, she goes ahead with the wedding to Diego. But before the vows are finished, her Dad is arrested after he punched Bode’s uncle after finding out that he had tried to get Cal Fire closed. There is so much drama in this town!
As the season ended it's not clear whether Graciela and Diego got married. Bode has approached his uncle Luke (the one Gabriela's dad punched) to try and become a full-time firefighter. Luke meanwhile is worried that Bode's mom Sharon is after his job. As Jake and the Geveive are bonding while he avoids going to Graciela's wedding, another of Cara’s exes, Rick, shows up claiming to be Geneveive's biological father.
Season 3
Having been released from prison, Bode's parent get him into the Cal Fire training program. Gabs has left Diego at the altar, he's left town, and she's living in a trailer while she tries to pay back his family for the wedding. Bode and Gab resume, well if not their relationship, having sex. Manny, Gabriella's dad, gets sentenced to one year at Fire Camp. A new cadet - Audrey - joins the trainee program.
S3 Ep 5 Edgewater's About to Get Real Cozy
Camden Casey makes an impact as he arrives in Edgewater as the new cadert coach for Ladder 42 - Bode's new boss. He's having a quiet drink at Bode's, although people are already noticing the tall guy wearing a Dodger's shirt and flip flops. When some of Diego's friends pick a fight with Bode over his role in breaking up Deigo and Gabriella, Cam steps in and with the a well-timed chuck of his footwear and the use of some salt and pepper, he defuses the situation.
There's no time for long introductions as a plane has crashed on the outskirts of Edgewater. Cam gets Bode up on top of the place putting out a fire in the cockpit, despite Jake telling Cam this is against the rules for trainees. Obviously Cam is a rulebreaker, and that suits Bode just fine!
As the town tries to accomodate all the passengers from the plane, Cam helpfully tells Bode and the audience his back story. Ten ofhis crew died in a bad fire, and Cam thinks he could've saved them if he had followed his gut and not the rules. "You have a wolf inside you, and you got to feed it and don't ever put it in a cage." he tells Bode who I supect will get this on a tshirt. later Cam give Jake some advice about Bode: "You gotta let him be free to run into the fire and not worry that he's going to burn." which seems like unwise advice for a firefighter.
Other developments durng the episode are that Bode and Gabs are hooking up on the regular, Bode's mother Sharon is being gaslight by doctors about her health, Eve tries to reconcile with her brother, and Daddy Leon and Cadet Audrey sing a song.
S3 Ep 6 "Not Without My Birds"
The town is fixated on the livestream of the hatching of two bald eagles. As they watch at Smokey's, Bode and Aubrey get flirty, while Gabrielle sideyes them. Not long after the baby chicks emerge, a fire threatens their habitat. Cam is focused on saving people in the fire's path but the other firefighters want to save the chicks as well. Luckily Vince comes up with a plan to do both, much to the releif of park ranger Francine who just happens to be Eve's ex-girlfriend. In the Fire Camp team, Eve has appointed Eve Manny as head of the crew, which causes tensions with Cole.
Cam continues to push Bode to focus on firefigting to the exclusion of everything else, which includes trying to save the chicks. As the fire closes in, Francine climbs a really big tree to save them. Cam orders all the trainness out, but Bode chooses to stay with his dad. Luckily the chicks are saved and everyone is safe.
Back at base, Aubreyimpresses Sharon with her ability to coordinate things under pressure, and also diagnose that her joint pain and hot flushes are due to menopause.
Cam wants to boot Bode off the training course for disobeying him, but Vince intervenes. He lets on that he knows Cam's younger borther was one of his crew that died. Cam gets moddy and storms of.
Bode tells Gabs he wants to go be in a relationship with her, but she says she's not in the right place to at this point. Bode pouts and says he's out then. Gabs heads to Smokey's to drown her sorrows and sees Cam there doing the same.
S3 Ep 7 "False Alarm"
There are personal drama's all around as Abrey has broken up with her boyfriend, Gabriela deals with Bode's rejection, Bode deals with rejecting Gabs, and Jake waits for his Car's daughter Gen to arrive for a visit. Gabriela throws herself into working and diving off a cliff repeatedly. None of these people are good with boundaries, so after Cam tells Sharon and Vince that Gabrirla got really drunk, Sharon goes snooping in Gab's place to find out what's up with her.
On the way to a call out, Cam tells Bode he won't be graduating from the program after disobeying him when he chose to help his father rescue the eagles, rather than follow Cam's orders. Noone else is happy either as Jake finds out Gen has decided to stay with her family and go camping. Vince doesn't help matters by providing some unasked for parenting advice.
The call-out is for a weed shop called "Dank Account" It appears to be a false alarm, so Sharon and the other firefighter's leave Cam and the trainees Bode and Aubrey to sort it out. However, things take a turn when the store security guard is actually a thief with a gun who has taken the staff hostage. He ties Aubrey up, and puts Cam and Bode to work breaking into the saferoom. They argue over who should tackle the thief, and Cam accidentally calls Bode "Patrick" - the name of his younger borther who died on the job. Meanwhile, Aubrey has managed to escape her ties, but the thief sees her and shoots her in the arm. After the safe is open, Cam and Bode rush him, but the gun goes off, exploding some butane cannisters.
Luckily everyone gets out safely. Bode confronts Cam and says that he is still carry the guilt of his borthers death, implying its impacting him on the job. Given Bode was a bit of a hero, Cam decides to let him graduate.
The trainees graduate, and Cam leaves to head home. Aubrey and Bode will now be part of Ladder 42. Back at Smokey's Gab's and Jake drown their sorrows over their respective dramas, and then decided to fuck in the back of Jake's truck.
