Episodes
8.15 Man's Best Friend with Benefits
Ed is approached by Sam, who was under the guise of a FBI agent, to test the blood taken off a piece of evidence he claims he found at the crime scene but which he actually ripped off the shirt that James had found in his bin. Sam hands it over to Ed, who then gives it off to his forensic scientist for analysis. He is then questioned by Sam on the matter concerning James Frampton, to which he replies that he doesn't know where James has been or when he'll return.
Later on, Sam once again approaches Ed and notices that his forensic scientist is holding a large file about James. He also realizes that a room was being kept secret and deduces that it has something to do with James.
He is later seen, through astral projection of James, along with Sam and Dean writing up a report in the secret room which was in fact used to gather evidence to bring James down.
