Later, Mary, Latika Dar and Millie feed the journal to the Ostium in an attempt to bring Dean back. Instead, they bring back the Impala which appears nearby.
After the defeat of the Akrida, Dean gives John and Mary his journal to help guide them through hunting as John's Journal did for him along with the Colt and a warning about Azazel. John and Mary bring it with them as they set out to figure out their future together. Having read some of the journal, Mary quotes Dean to John that "driver picks the music, shotgun shuts their cakehole," something that Dean was very specific on.
