Chester Lew was from Kearney, Missouri. He was the husband of Mary Lew and the father of Scott Lew.

While working on his car, Chester's wife Mary arrives home. He asks her to "grab him a cold one". When she refuses and tells him to ask Sara Alcott to do it for him, she kicks the jack holding the car up, causing it to come crashing down and pin Chester down. She then gets into the car, starts the engine, and puts it into drive, decapitating him.
It is later revealed that Mary was possessed by the spectre of Vance Collins, a Civil War soldier who used people's grudges to go on a killing spree.
