Alex is a businessman in St. Louis who became the victim of a shapeshifter, who took on his form.

When Alex heads off on a business trip to Kansas City, the shapeshifter impersonates him, breaks in, and ties up and beats Lindsay. When his flight is cancelled, Alex returns home early to find the shapeshifter torturing Lindsay. The creature knocks him out with a baseball bat and escapes, leaving Alex to be arrested by the police.
